پیام به خانم روبرتا متسولا، رییس پارلمان اروپا

خانم محترم،
شما بی شک از سرکوب وحشیانه زنان جوانی که در جمهوری اسلامی ایران به حکم قانون، تنها نیمی از حقوق مردان را دارند، مطلعید. زنان ایرانی برای خود آینده روشنی در جامعه ایران نمی‌بینند و لذا به خیابان آمده و با اعتراض به حجاب اجباری که نماد مردسالاری خشن و دیگر تبیضات حقوقی علیه زنان می‌باشد تظاهرات می‌کنند. این تظاهرات که از سوی جوانان در همه شهرهای ایران پشتیبانی فعال می‌شود، تا کنون طبق آخرین آمار امنستی اینترناسیونال بیش از ۵۰۰ کشته و هزاران مجروح به جای گذاشته است. نزدیک ۱۵۰۰۰ هزار نفر دستگیر شده‌اند که در غیر انسانی‌ترین شرایط در زندانهای سرهم شده محبوسند. بسیاری از آنان در زندانها شکنجه می‌شوند تا به اعرافات دلخواسته قوه قضایی اسلامی تن بدهند. آنان سپس در دادگاه‌هایی بدون وکیل مدافع در بهترین حالت به حبسهای طولانی و حتا اعدام محکوم می‌گردند. از تعداد دختران و پسرانی که ربوده می‌شوند تا هفته‌ها بعد جسدشان “پیدا شوند” آمار دقیقی در دست نداریم.
خانم متسولا فکر نمی‌کنید که اکنون وقت آن رسیده است که دول عضو اتحادیه اروپا در گامی جدی علیه رفتارهای فاشیست مآبانه حکام ایران بردارند و دستکم سفرای خود را از جمهوری اسلامی احضار کرده و عذر سفرای جمهوری اسلامی را بخواهند؟ ما هم چنین، اتحادیه تحت ریاست شما را فرا می‌خوانیم که سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی ایران را، که عملیات تروریستی و جنایات بی شمار آن بر شما نیز پوشیده نیست، به عنوان یک سازمان تروریستی شناخته و تحت تحریم قرار دهید. تا کی میتوان با تحریم‌هایی که برای حکومتی با سابقه طولانی نقض فاحش حقوق بشر مانع جدی به شمار نمی‌رود، بسنده کرد؟
به امید اینکه پارلمان اروپا در اجلاس ۱۶ ژانویه جاری به این امر مهم توجه و اقدام بایسته در این مورد به عمل آورد.

Appeal to Ms. Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament

Your Excellency, Mrs. Roberta Metsola,
You are no doubt aware of the inhuman repression of the women in the Islamic Republic and know that the law of the country recognizes only part of the rights of men for women. Women, thus do not enjoy the full rights of a citizen, although the rights of citizens too are in many ways restricted, for instance the free expression of ideas, the right of demonstration etc. Because the Iranian women see no clear future for themselves in the Islamic Republic, they go to the streets and protest against the compulsory headscarf (hijab) – which is a symbol of tyrannical patriarchy – and other forms of discrimination against women. These protests are actively supported by the young men in almost all cities and towns of Iran. Up to this point, according to the last statistics of Amnesty International, more than 500 people have been killed or executed, thousands have been injured and close to 15000 citizens have been detained, which are kept in the most degrading conditions in crowded prisons. Many of them are tortured in order to extract unintended confessions, then they are tried in courts without having a legal counsel. In the best case, they are condemned to long prison terms, but also to execution. About the abducted young women and men, whose corpses are “discovered” weeks after being arrested, no statistics exists.
Your Excellency, Mrs. Metsola, don’t you think that it is high time the governments of the European Union took serious steps against this barbaric behaviour of the Iranian authorities and at a minimum sent back the ambassadors of the Islamic Republic back to their country or called back their ambassadors from Iran?
We also appeal to you to declare the Revolutionary Guard Corps of the Islamic Republic (Sepah Pasdaran) as a terrorist organization, as you surely are well aware of the terroristic activities and the numerous crimes committed by this corps in Europe and elsewhere. We believe that sanctions alone will not be effective for a regime that doesn’t show the slightest regard for human rights and violates them in a most brutal way.
We hope that the European Parliament, whom we hold in high esteem, will take the foregoing into serious consideration and take the appropriate decision on it in its session of 16th inst.
