The Charter & Goals of Iran National Front

 
The liberation struggles of the Iranian people to establish democracy in our country had begun since the constitutional movement (1905) and after 70 years of struggles was able to overthrow the dictatorial monarchical system in 1979. The era witnessed the struggles for the Constitution and reached heights of success in nationalizing our oil under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh and after that the widespread, persistent and glorious struggles of the Iranian people to overthrow the monarchy with the hope of establishing democracy was a long journey that took only 70 years.

The glorious revolution in February 1979 instead of establishing and expanding of democracy resulted in the establishment of dictatorship and reaction by the Islamic Republic regime, which imposed horrendous tyranny and economic backwardness on the Iranian people.

The Iran National Front had always played an effective and progressive role ever since the struggle to nationalize our oil and the struggle against the tyrannical rule of the Pahlavi dynasty. We are determined to continue our historical and national duty to renew our struggles and we are determined to continue this struggle until our people succeed in the struggle against incumbent dictatorship and establish democracy in Iran.

The Iran National Front uses the lessons of struggles of the Iranian people in the past 100 years to renew our political and cultural awareness in order to help create a new and vital society, free from dictatorship and repression, that would guarantee individual and social liberties and rights and promote social justice.

The Organizations of Iran National Front is independent in determining its goals, and methods of struggles and policies. Because the organizations of Iran National Front inside Iran are under constant repression by the incumbent dictatorship, and hence unable to express their ideals and demands, our organization in the United States will expose the brutal dictatorship in Iran, help the struggle of the Iranian people for democracy and will defend the legitimate struggles of the Iran National Front inside, while we remain organizationally and politically independent from them.
The Goals of Iran National Front

1INF strives to establish a democratic system based on the will of the Iranian people. The structure of Iran's government shall be a republic based on free elections

2INF struggles to establish individual liberties and social freedoms in Iran, which ever since the Constitutional Revolution (1905) have been the goals of the Iranian people and are also enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

3INF believes in religious freedom and the separation of religion and ideology from the state

4INF supports dynamic culture, modernity, and flourishing of civil society and struggles to achieve social prosperity and social justice

5INF explicitly demands equal rights for women and men and demands the promulgation of laws based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and to protect the rights of women, children and families

6INF defends the rights of ethnic minorities in Iran

7INF regards as one of its main goals the defense of the territorial integrity of Iran and its recognized borders
