Your Excellency:
Before we express
our position concerning the events affecting the interests, and
perhaps the destiny, of the Iranian nation, it is necessary to
introduce ourselves and our organization, so there be relevance to
our statement of position.
Iran National
Front is the oldest existing political party established some six
decades ago on principles of peace, democracy, human rights and
economic progress. We have always been in opposition to the
totalitarian and suppressive ruling regimes since inception, with
the exception of the short period of the democratic government of
Dr. Mossadeq in early 50's.
We believe in
democracy, respect for other nations' sovereignty, peaceful
co-existence and cooperation, rejection of all means of mass
destruction and total adherence to the UN Charter and the
International Bill of Human Rights. Article 7 of our party By-Laws
states: "We believe in independent foreign policy based on
Iranian national interests, sovereignty, supporting the United
Nations principles and goals, friendship and mutual respect with all
nations and countries, specially the countries of the region, and
fighting against all forms of individual, group or state terrorism."
Mr. Secretary
General:
Considering the
current crisis and the situation our country is in, we believe that
the current and long-term interests of Iran dictates effective steps
to be taken toward reducing tension with the regional countries and
the world community, and toward avoiding confrontation with the UN
and its regulating bodies.
We also
believe Iran should play a decisive role in the fight against
international terrorism and narcotics trafficking.
We further
believe that Iran and all the countries in this region must
intelligently and quickly make effective moves toward establishing
democracy, respect for human rights and freedom of choice in free
elections.
Mr. Secretary
General,
We believe that
with the strategic position of Iran in this very important region,
and the important role it can and must play is guaranteeing
stability, peace and prosperity for the hundreds of millions of
inhabitants, there is no room here for ideological radicalism,
spread of religious, sectarian and racial hatred, disrespect for the
right of worship for all, and theocracy.
We believe
that Iran, with a background of thousands of years of civilization
and essential scientific, technological and literary contributions
to the world, a pioneer in human rights and respect for the
traditions and religions of other nations, must again take up his
role as the meeting point of all cultures, ideologies and ideas, and
act again as the bridge between east and west.
Therefore, we
as the voice of the Iranian nation, declare that the people of Iran
continue their struggle to overcome the current political, social
and economic crisis our country is caught up in, by making
fundamental changes in the laws governing the country. We believe
that a nation that has struggled relentlessly for democracy and
freedom of choice for the past century and pioneered democratic
movements in the region, is destined to achieve its goal eventually.
Mr. Secretary
General,
As a political
organization which has been fighting for democracy and human rights
for nearly sixty years in this country, we would like to request of
you that, despite the bitter realities in Iran and the ongoing
struggle between our people and the rulers, make the decision makers
in the Security Council understand, should the matter of Iran is
brought up, that the unintelligent and ill-advised comments by
certain Islamic Republic officials should be considered the position
of the Iranian nation. Iranian people, owing to their very old and
highly cultured civilization, respects, under the UN charter, the
existence and independence all countries in the world and the
freedom and welfare of all nations.
An act of
punishment by the Security Council will only give our government
excuse for increasing level of suppression and creating a harder
police state, thus stifling our people's struggle toward freedom and
democracy.
We would like
you to remind the members of the Council that any resolution
targeting Iranian people's national interests, whether it is
economic or military, will put the people and not the rulers under
pressure. Experience has shown that the Islamic Republic survives
only in crisis and by creating crisis.

عالیجناب:
پیش از اینکه موضع خود را در مورد
رویدادهایی که بر منافع، و شاید بر سرنوشت، مردم ایران تاثیرگذار می
باشد ابراز کنیم، ضروری است که خودمان و سازمان خود را معرفی نماییم تا
ارتباط آن با این ابراز موضع روشن گردد.
جبهه ملی ایران کهن ترین سازمان
سیاسی موجود در ایران است که حدود شش دهه پیش، بر پایه اصول صلح طلبی،
دموکراسی، حقوق بشر و پیشرفت اقتصادی تشکیل شد. ما نسبت به رژیم های
دیکتاتور و سرکوبگر همیشه در اوپوزیسیون بوده ایم، مگر در دوران کوتاه
دولت دموکراتیک دکتر مصدق در اوائل دهه پنجاه.
ما معتقد به دموکراسی، احترام به
تمامیت ارضی کشورها، همزیستی و همکاری صلح آمیز، طرد هرگونه وسیله
نابودی همگانی، تبعیت از منشور سازمان ملل متحد و رعایت کامل اعلامیه
جهانی حقوق بشر هستیم. ماده 7 اساسنامه سازمان ما می گوید: "اتخاذ
سیاست خارجی مستقل ایرانی بر اساس حفظ منافع و مصالح ملی و حفظ تمامیت
ارضی کشور و پشتیبانی از اصول و هدفهای منشور ملل متحد و دوستی و
احترام متقابل با همه ملت ها و کشورها بویژه کشورهای منطقه و مبارزه با
هرگونه تروریسم فردی، گروهی و دولتی".
آقای دبیرکل:
با توجه به موقعیت و بحرانی که
کشور ما اکنون در آن قرار دارد، ما باور داریم که منافع جاری و دراز
مدت ایران ایجاب میکند که گام های موثری در راستای کاهش تنش با کشورهای
منطقه و با جامعه جهانی، و در راستای خودداری از رویارویی با سازمان
ملل و ارگانهای کنترل کننده آن برداشته شود.
ما باور داریم که ایران بایستی
نقش تعیین کننده ای در جنگ علیه تروریسم بین المللی و قاچاق مواد مخدر
ایفا نماید.
ما باور داریم که ایران و همه
کشورهای این منطقه باید با هوشمندی و بسرعت حرکت موثری در راستای
برقراری دموکراسی، احترام به حقوق بشر و آزادی گزینش در انتخابات آزاد
انجام دهند.
آقای دبیر کل:
با توجه به موقعییت استراتژیک
ایران در این منطقه پر اهمیت، و نقش مهمی که می تواند در تضمین ثبات،
صلح و پیشرفت صدها میلیون ساکنان این منطقه بازی کند، دیگر جایی برای
افراط گرایی ایدئولوژیک، ترویج نفرت مذهبی، فرقه ای و نژادی، عدم رعایت
آزادی مذهب برای همه مردم، و حکومت دینی وجود ندارد.
ما باور داریم که ایران، با زمینه
هزاران سال تمدن و داده های بنیادین علمی، فنی و ادبی به جهان، پیشاهنگ
حقوق بشر و احترام به آیین ها و مذهب های ملت های دیگر، باید دوباره
موقعیت خود را بعنوان نقطه آمیزش همه تمدن ها، ایدئولوژی ها و اندیشه
ها، باز پس گیرد و دوباره به پل ارتباطی میان خاور وباختر تبدیل شود.
بنابراین، ما بعنوان صدای ملت
ایران، اعلام می کنیم که مردم ایران به تلاش خود برای رفع این بحران
سیاسی، اجتماعی و اقتصادی که گریبانگیر کشور ما شده، برای انجام
تغییرات بنیادین در قانونهای اداره کشور، ادامه خواهند داد. ما باور
داریم ملتی که یکصد سال برای دموکراسی و کسب آزادی مبارزه کرده و
پیشاهنگ جنبش های دموکراسی خواهی در منطقه بوده، سرانجام خود آنرا بدست
خواهد آورد.
آقای دبیر کل:
بنام یک سازمان سیاسی که نزدیک به
شصت سال در راه دموکراسی و حقوق بشر در این کشور مبارزه کرده، ما می
خواهیم از شما این درخواست را بکنیم که، با وجود حقایق تلخ موجود در
ایران و چالش جاری میان ملت و حاکمیت، به تصمیم گیرندگان شورای امنیت
تفهیم کنید که مواضع نابخردانه و نسنجیده مسئولان جمهوری اسلامی را
بحساب ملت ایران نگذارند. زیرا، این ملت کهنسال و با فرهنگ، با احترام
به ضوابط سازمان ملل متحد، موجودیت و استقلال همه کشورهای جهان و آزادی
و رفاه همه ملت ها را گرامی می دارد و به آن ارج می نهد.
یک حرکت تنبیهی توسط شورای امنیت،
فقط به حاکمیت ما بهانه خواهد داد که سطح فشار و اختناق را بالاتر ببرد
و یک دولت پلیسی سخت تر بوجود آورد و، در نتیجه، تلاش ملت ما را برای
استقرار دموکراسی و آزادی کند سازد.
از شما می خواهیم که به اعضای
شورای امنیت یادآوری کنید که هر اعلامیه ای که منافع ملت ایران را هدف
بگیرد، چه اقتصادی و چه نظامی، مردم ایران را زیر فشار خواهد گذاشت نه
دولت را. سابقه نشان داده که رمز ماندگاری حاکمیت جمهوری اسلامی فقط در
بحران و بحران آفرینی است.
